Never miss an update or new short story

Jennifer Hoffman is a former animator turned software engineer who spends her nights traipsing through strange worlds and attempting to document the journey. While animator to engineer to writer may not seem like the most conventional of paths, what these all have in common is that they are storytellers. The tools available to each are different, of course. An animator uses pose and weight and arcs. A programmer uses classes and methods and algorithms. A writer uses words and sentences and paragraphs. With these very different tools, however, each is trying to accomplish the same thing. They are trying to share something, to communicate something that for the moment only they can see, and if they do it well, they will bring to life something that didn’t exist before. What could be more beautiful than that?

Jennifer grew up among the Great Lakes and cheeses of Wisconsin and spent her young adult years in the swampy fruit-heaven that is Florida. She currently lives and works in the Pacific Northwest with her two lovable kitties and more plants than one should probably stuff into a single apartment. Her hobbies include studying horse genetics, raising sourdough cultures, nerding out over chocolate, and playing far too many videogames.

If you came here looking for something other than her writing, please see: horses, programming, or art.
